Mental Health Care Plans

Ikigai Psychology Clinic provides psychological treatment under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.

You may be able to access a Medicare rebate of $88.25 per session for up to 20 sessions per calendar year if you are eligible for a Mental Health Care plan referral from your GP.

You will need to make an appointment with your General Practitioner who will conduct an assessment. If you meet the relevant criteria your General Practitioner will complete a Mental Health Care Plan under the Better Access Initiative, which can provide access to 20 Psychology sessions within one calendar year. If you are claiming a rebate under the Better Access Initiative the psychologist is required to provide a brief report to your General Practitioner. This will occur after your sixth and tenth sessions. This report only contains general information as well as any questionnaires completed and recommendations for future care.

*Please note you do not require a GP referral to attend, it is completely optional and simply to aid in costs.
